Bulk-create events from a spreadsheet
Who does this: an Owner, Admin or Manager, when there are more events than you want to enter one at a time and they do not come from a federation feed.
When to use which
Section titled “When to use which”- One event: New event.
- The same session every week: New event with Recurring Event on.
- A season’s worth of different matches or sessions: Bulk Create, this guide.
- Competition fixtures from your federation: Import federation fixtures.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Events are created in the season marked active, not the season showing in the sidebar. If no season is active the import stops with “Cannot import: No active season found”, so set the season you are importing into as the active one first.
- Go to Events and click Bulk Create. The page is headed Bulk Import Events.
- Click Download CSV Template. It carries the columns the page expects and three example rows to work from.
- Fill in one row per event, then drop the file on the page or browse for it. CSV only, up to 5 MB.
- The page previews every row, marks the ones it cannot use and gives a reason for each. Fix those in your spreadsheet and upload again.
- Click Import n Events. Only the valid rows are imported.
Filling in the template
Section titled “Filling in the template”The columns are Title, Type, Date, Start Time, End Time, Location, Description, Audience (Team Name or ID), RSVP Required and Max Attendees. Column order does not matter; the page matches them by heading.
- Title, Location and Date are required. A row missing any of them is rejected.
- Date is DD/MM/YYYY.
- Start Time and End Time take either 24-hour (
18:00) or 12-hour (6:00 PM) times. The end has to be after the start. - Audience takes the team name, spelled as ClubEzy has it. A team’s ID works too, which is what the heading offers as an alternative, but the name is what you will have to hand.
All Season Memberssends the event to everyone in the season. Anything else is reported asTeam "..." not foundand the row is rejected. - RSVP Required is on unless you write
false,noor0. - Type should match one of your event types from Settings → Organisation → Event Types.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”The events appear on the calendar and in the app for their teams, exactly as if you had created them one by one.
